Walter S. Allen, 58, lifelong resident of West Warwick until moving to Warwick three years ago, passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at home with his loving wife, Denise Proulx-Allen at his side. Son of the late Walter and Edith (Nelson) Allen.
Walter was employed by New Penn Motor Express and a member of the Teamsters Local 251 for 35 years. Walter was an avid NASCAR fan, rarely missing a race. Also, not only was he a motorcycle enthusiast, but enjoyed time building and painting them as well.
He leaves his son, Shane Allen of Cranston and his granddaughter JoJo of West Warwick; stepson Roland A. Proulx III and his wife Elizabeth of Cranston, and his grandson Matthew; stepdaughter Marisa Proulx and her boyfriend Lucas Pisano of East Providence. He was the brother of Donna Rude of Minnesota and the late Diane Messier, and many nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are invited to a celebration of Walter’s life on Sunday, February 9, 2020 from 1-3 PM in the Potvin-Quinn Funeral Home,45 Curson St., West Warwick. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Hope Hospice & Palliative Care, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904 will be greatly appreciated.
