Robert Higginbotham, 91, of Saunderstown, RI passed away peacefully at home on Friday, September 28th after a short illness, surrounded by his loving family. Robert was the son of the late Herbert and Mary Higginbotham and brother to the late Herbert, Donald and John. Robert was a loving husband and an incredibly gentle and patient father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a respected friend and admired boss, having watched over his business, Laboratory Services Co., for 42 years. Robert was an avid reader, golfer and sports fan, who enjoyed traveling. Most important to him was the time he spent with his family. He was a gentle soul who loved his church, attending mass every day. His faith in Jesus and Mother Mary guided his life.
Robert is survived by his wife Dorothy (Irving). They recently celebrated their 65th anniversary and their love was an inspiration. He also leaves behind his children, John Higginbotham , Thomas Higginbotham and Joyce St.Amand, Kenneth and Nicole Higginbotham , Ann Higginbotham, Susan and William Freeman and Julie and Christopher Ray. Robert was grandfather to 17 adoring grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was loved completely and he will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
A visitation will be held Thursday, October 4, 2018 from 9-10 am in the FAGAN-QUINN Funeral Home, 825 Boston Neck Rd., North Kingstown, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in St. Mark Church, Narragansett Ave., Jamestown. Burial will be in St. Mark Cemetery, Jamestown. In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. Mark Church, 60 Narragansett Ave., Jamestown, RI 02835, will be appreciated.
