Rita M. Tait Obituary

Rita M. (McNitt) Tait, 92, passed away peacefully Sunday December 11, 2016. She was born in Norwich, NY to Allen E. and Ethel C. (Crandall) McNitt. She is survived by her loving husband, William O. Tait, III, her sister Norma Treichler, her brother Allen McNitt Jr., her three children Carol Tait, Douglas Tait, Timothy Tait, daughter-in-law Kathleen Brooks, and granddaughter Johanna Brooks-Tait.
Rita grew up in Norwich, NY and attended First Baptist Church of Norwich where she was active in Sunday School. She received her Bachelor of Education from SUNY State Teachers College at Oneonta and taught Kindergarten in Margaretville, NY. She later lived in Huntington Station, NY for 58 years. She was active in the Girls Scouts of America and was a member of St. Lawrence of Canterbury Episcopal Church. She moved to Greenville, RI in 2012.
Her funeral will be held Thursday, December 15, at 12 Noon in the North Scituate Advent Christian Church, 212 Rockland Rd., North Scituate, RI. Her burial will be Friday December 16, 2016 at 11:30am in Pinelawn Memorial Park, Farmingdale, NY. Visitation respectfully omitted.
