Patrick W. Coggeshall, Sr., 61, passed away Wednesday July 27, 2016 at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the loving husband of Cheryl A. (Parr) Davis. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Calvin C. and Paula T. (Mclean) Coggeshall. Pat was a lifelong Foster resident and proud that he worked for the Foster Highway Department as a mechanic for 17 years, especially when he was rigging vehicles during a nasty snowstorm. Pat also worked at Portland Transmissions prior to the Foster Highway Dept. His experience in rigging any type of vehicle, his mechanical experience and his love of racing came from working with his father at Cals Junkyard. While growing up at his father's junkyard (now run by his brother Mike) they had fun driving the junk cars around the yard and building the racecar that he raced at Seekonk Speedway in the 1970's. Pat was proud of the Stihl chainsaw he won at a safety course and trophies for first, second and third place at the 1999 snowplow rally both held at the Foster Highway Dept. He was proud volunteering his time for the Democratic Parties pig roasts. He enjoyed NASCAR, hunting, fishing, cookouts and gathering with his family and friends that he loved so much. Besides his wife, he is survived by sons Patrick W. Coggeshall, Jr and his wife Ammy Ann of Foster, James F. Davis and his wife Lindsay Dischino of East Haddam, CT and Sarah B. Davis of Foster. He is the twin brother of Michael Coggeshall and his wife Charlene of Foster, Walter Coggeshall and his wife Sue of Frost Proof, FL and he was the brother of the late Kathy Coggeshall. Pat is also survived by his beloved granddaughter Eden Hope Dischino and several nieces and nephews.
