Martin, Michael J., 69, of Coventry, RI and Bradenton, FL passed away Sunday, February 25, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Deborah (Cabral) Martin for 21 years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Maurice and Josephine (Chmura) Martin.
Michael worked as an art teacher at the Dr. Kevin M. Hurley Middle School in Seekonk for 35 years before retiring. He was well loved by all his students.
He was the father of Mikel Martin (Jennifer), and Marcele Briere (Paul); beloved grandfather of Andre, Mason, Tyler, Alexandra, Samantha, and Matthew; brother of Stephen Martin (Lynne), Michelle Haley (Richard), and Joseph Martin (Lynn). He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 10 am in Saints John and Paul Church, S. Main St., Coventry. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Tomorrow Fund at Hasbro Children’s Hospital, 593 Eddy Street, Providence, RI 02903, will be appreciated.
