Mary D. Mattos Obituary

Mary D. Mattos, 77, died Sunday, May 22, 2016. She was the wife of the late William F. Mattos. A resident of Providence for most of her life, she was a daughter of the late James and Mary (Schroeder) Moss. She also resided in Cranston and Pawtucket. Mary loved community theatre, and was involved for over thirty years. She started with make-up and set construction before becoming an actor. She had performed with the Barker Playhouse, the Pawtucket Community Theatre, and City Nights Dinner Theatre. She was the beloved mother of Geralyn M. Gabriel of Warwick, William J. Mattos of Charlston, Kristyn B. Mattos of Pawtucket, and Stephen C. Mattos of Providence. She was the sister of James Moss of Smithfield, and Patricia Patrick of East Providence.

Her funeral service will be held Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 11 am in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Chapel, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick. Burial in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-8 pm.
