Mary Ann Young Obituary

Young, Mary Ann,(Baxter) 81, passed away Friday, November 18, 2016 at home. She was the wife of the late William T. Young, and daughter of the late George and Mary Ann (Quinn) Baxter. Mary Ann was Broker and Owner of Young Realty for over 35 years, and a member of the National Association of Realtors reaching Emeritus status in 2014. She was the first woman chair of the RI Real Estate Commission and was instrumental in writing the education and testing requirements for Realtors. A communicant of St. Francis de Sales Church, she was active in many parish activities and functions. She was an avid golfer and member of the Quonset Ladies Twilight League where she formed lifetime friendships. A consummate volunteer, she worked tirelessly to improve the community in which she lived. She is survived by six children, Thomas C., Michael W. and Mark A. Stevens, Mary Ann E. Topp, Rebecca M. Moniz and Bethany I. Lenderman; eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late John, George and Joseph Baxter.

Her funeral will be held Wednesday, November 23 at 8:45 AM, from The FAGAN-QUINN Funeral Home, 825 Boston Neck Rd, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Francis de Sales Church, School St. at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-8PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Mary Academy BayView, 3070 Pawtucket Ave, Riverside, RI 02852, will be appreciated.
