Lawrence G. Soucy, 92, of Coventry passed away on Monday, November 18, 2019 at his home. He was the husband of Jacqueline T. (Brassard) Soucy and the late Anne Marie (Masciarotte) Soucy.
He was born in Canada on April 23, 1927, a son of the late Armand Moses and Yvonne Irene (Robert) Soucy.
Larry was a local antique dealer and owner of West Bay Antiques in the Pawtuxet Valley area for many years. He was a member of the Pawtuxet Valley Historical & Preservation Society in West Warwick and was a lifetime communicant of SS. Peter & Paul Church and a member of the church's choir. He was a World War II and Korean War Army veteran.
He leaves a daughter, Paula Dennigan and her companion, Hugh Caldwell of West Warwick; a son, Lawrence Soucy, Jr. and his wife, Molina of New York; three grandchildren, Sean Dennigan, Erin Matheu, and Marina Soucy; a great granddaughter, Callie Matheu; and a sister, Irene Demers of Canada. He was the father of the late Pierre Soucy and the brother of the late Robert Soucy and Jeanne McGrath.
His funeral will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at 9 am from the Potvin-Quinn Funeral Home, 45 Curson Street, West Warwick with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in SS. Peter & Paul Church, 48 Highland Street, West Warwick. A committal service with military honors will follow in the SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery Chapel in Coventry. Visiting hours are Friday 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Leukemia Society of America-R.I. Chapter, 2348 Post Road, Suite 203, Warwick, R.I. 02886.
