Obituary

Konstantinos P. Sampalis “Charlie”, 58, died Sunday, September 8, 2019. Born in Filiatra, Greece, he was a son of the late Panagiotis D. “Panos” and Maria (Assimakopoulou) Sampalis. He had worked with his brother Dionisios for over 30 years at Sakis Pizza in Providence. He was also well known in the sport of kickboxing and martial arts as a trainer, and had formerly owned Sampalis Kickboxing Gym. Charlie loved to cook, but his greatest love was spending time with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his children, Stephanie Mocka and her husband Boris, Peter Sampalis, Larissa Sampalis Capuano and her husband Donald, and Athena Sampalis. He also leaves his beloved grandchildren, Olivia, Ava, and Alexander. He also leaves his brother Dionisios P. Sampalis and his wife Vasso, three nieces and their families.

His funeral will be held Friday, September 13, 2019 at 9:30 AM from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Avenue, Warwick, with a funeral service at 11 AM in the Church of Annunciation, 175 Oaklawn Avenue, Cranston. Burial will be in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence. Visiting hours, Thursday 5-8 PM.
