Judith Ann Armour (Reese), of Saunderstown, passed away November 9, 2016. She was the beloved wife of John Armour for fifty years.
Born in Westerly on September 24, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Lyman and Claire (Larlson) Reese; Judy's siblings are Gail, and twins Joan and Jean.
After graduating from the second Chariho High School Class in 1962 as class vice president, she received a full scholarship to Rhode Island College and graduated in 1966. Judy met her future husband John in the fall of 1965 and they married on August 20, 1966. Judy began teaching elementary school in Warwick in 1966 and she just loved teaching young students. Judy retired from teaching after 36 years in Warwick and she earned her Master's Degree from Providence College in 1973.
Once retired from teaching in Warwick, Judy continued to work in after school programs assisting needy students. Judy joined her husband on Saturdays working for the RI Skills Commission scoring high school on demand essays.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son John T. and his wife Michelle. Judy immersed her life into the wonderful experience of three grandchildren, Ashley, Andre and Abby Armour.
Judy was extremely active in two quilting groups in Narragansett and the NaNai's in Princeville, HI and she had more wonderful and cherished friends in both Rhode Island and Hawaii.
In 1973 Judy and John first traveled to the Hawaiian Islands and fell in love with everything Hawaiian. In 1996 they purchased a condo in Princeville and upon Johns' retirement from teaching in Pawtucket, they became residents of Hawaii. Judy's love of dedicating herself to Jesus and helping those less fortunate transcended thru 24 years of various leadership roles at St James Church in North Providence and 27 at Waioli Huiia Church in Hanalei, Hawaii.
