John W. Greene Obituary

John W. Greene, 87, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at Kent Hospital. Born in Providence, Rhode Island, he was a son of the late Charles C. and Helen I. (Roderick) Greene. John was a land surveyor and was employed at Gilbane Construction and Marshall Construction companies. He held positions as Project Superintendent/Engineer in engineering, construction, municipal, college, and architectural firms. He was a graduate of the Northeastern University of Massachusetts and URI for Civil Engineering. He is survived by one daughter, Debra K. Greene, three sons, John R., Robert K., and Mark G. Greene; two brothers, Peter A. and Jeffrey T. Greene; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was the father of the late Steven P. Greene, and brother of the late Michael R., Dennis P., and Charles W. Greene.

Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, October 1, 2019 from 5-7 PM in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick.
