John K. L'Heureux Obituary

L'Heureux, John K., 70, passed away, Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at home. He was the beloved husband of Florence "Flori" (Giroux) L'Heureux and a son of the late John and Theresa (Ricard) L'Heureux. John was employed as a glazier supervisor for Hareld Glass and retired after 40 years. He was a US Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War with the rank of Corporal, a member of the Army Reserve 399th Combat Support Hospital for 20 years with the rank of Sergeant, the Wm. Shields American Legion Post #43 and the Oakland Beach Volunteer Fire Co. He was the father of John L. (Christine), Keith N. (Christa) and Travis M. L'Heureux; brother of Armand L'Heureux (Lynn), Delores Rose (Roger) and Michael L'Heureux; grandsons, John A., Nicholas and Matthew L'Heureux; son-in-law of Richard M. Higgins and the late Rosanne Higgins; brother-in-law of Roxanne Carter and Gina Burke. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews, special friends "Semper Fi". John had a special love for family, military, nature and wildlife. He will be greatly missed by all.

His funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at 10 am in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Chapel, 2435 Warwick Ave. Burial with military honors will be in RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours Tuesday, 4-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the John K. L'Heureux Memorial Fund, 22 Possner Avenue, Warwick, RI 02889, will be appreciated.
