John C. "Mick" Klitzner Obituary

John C. "Mick" Klitzner, 75, passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at home. He was the beloved husband of Judith M. (Dunphy) Klitzner for 55 years; and the son of the late Abraham and Ruth (Lynch) Klitzner. Mick was the loving father of John C. Klitzner Jr., Kelley A. Fluette (Randy), Kristin K. Maggiacomo (Edward), Kathryn A. Klitzner, and Kerry S. Main (David). Loving grandfather of Katelyn, Zachery, Allison, Michael, Mia, Emily, Mollie, Matthew, Sarah, Samantha, Carlito and Jovanni. Loving great grandfather of Caidence, John, and Payton. Mick owned and operated many small businesses in Rhode Island. An avid Red Sox fan, his real passion was coaching softball, basketball and track. Coaching for St. Xavier, Prout, North Kingstown High Schools and UMASS. Mick was the Athletic Director for Salve Regina, where he coached women’s basketball, before retiring.

His funeral will be held Saturday at 9am from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Kevin Church, Sandy Lane. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours Friday 4-7pm.
