John A. DiGioia Obituary

DiGioia, John A. Sr., 73, died Thursday, March 1, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Gail S. (Pearson) DiGioia. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Anthony and Rita (Annunziata) DiGioia. He resided in North Kingstown before moving to Richmond 20 years ago. John worked in Sales at Astro-Med retiring in 2014. He had formerly been employed at Bercen Inc. a division of Cranston Print Works. John had served as a Medic in Special Forces with the RI National Guard for 6 years. He served as Treasurer with the Special Forces Association, Chapter 48. He was the beloved father of John A. DiGioia, Jr. and Amy K. Dziedzic and stepfather of Michael W. Connors and Kristin M. Giard. He was the loving grandfather of Kelsey and Daniel Johnston, Indarra DiGioia, Ruby Connors and Zoe Dziedzic; and the brother of Sandra Williamson, Mariann DiGioia, Anthony DiGioia, Cathy Schulbaum and the late Terri DiGioia and his twin brother Michael DiGioia.

His funeral service with Military Honors will be held Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at 10 am in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Chapel, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick. Interment will follow in White Brook Cemetery, Richmond. Visiting Hours Monday 4-8 pm.
