Jay D. Chirnside, 52, passed away suddenly on February 1, 2018. He was the fiancé of Heather M. Gomes of South Kingstown.
Born in Warwick, he was a son of Joan (Darelius) Chirnside of North Kingstown and the late Donald P. Chirnside.
Jay was the owner of C-Side Excavation Company in South Kingstown. He was a member of the RI Independent Contractors Association and the former East Greenwich Volunteer Fire Department.
In addition to his mother, he leaves two children, Jay D. Chirnside, Jr. and Rebecca L. Chirnside both of South Kingstown; two brothers, Jeffrey P. Chirnside (Deborah) of Bristol and Jon T. Chirnside Ret. Det. Sgt. EGPD (Melissa Bicknell) of West Greenwich; sister, Jill Chirnside (Mark Shurilla) of North Kingstown; and a granddaughter, Emma M. Alden; nephew of Carolyn H. Chirnside and Kenneth W. Chirnside (Judy).
Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, February 6, 2018 from 3-7pm followed by a Celebration of His Life at 7pm in the FAGAN-QUINN Funeral Home, 825 Boston Neck Road, North Kingstown. Private burial.
