Obituary

James J. Corry, 48, passed away Sunday, May 8, 2016 at home, after fighting a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer always with a smile and never a complaint. He was the amazing and devoted husband of Sandra A. (Cicchelli) Corry. Born in Providence, he was a son of Linda A. (Barry) Corry of Chepachet and the late Robert J. Corry. He lived in North Providence before moving to Chepachet 23 years ago. Mr. Corry was a police officer with North Providence Police Dept. before retiring in 2000. He was a member of the Marine Corps from 1986-1993 attaining the rank of Sergeant and serving during Operation Desert Storm. Jim was a 1986 graduate of LaSalle Academy, he played on the football team and was captain of the lacrosse team. He graduated from Roger Williams College with an Associate's Degree in Law Enforcement, was a member of North Providence F.O.P Lodge #13 and a member of the Knights of Columbus in Chepachet.
Besides his wife Sandra and mother Linda, he was the proud and loving father of Kyle N. and Ryan J. Corry of Chepachet. He was the brother of Steven T. Corry and his fiancé Jacyee Fascitelli and the late Robert J. Corry, Jr. He was brother in-law to Diane Cicchelli Barry and her husband Uncle James Barry and JoAnn Cicchelli Fuoco and her husband Anthony. He was the loving uncle to a niece, 5 nephews and 2 great-nephews. He also leaves many, much loved aunts, uncles and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial, Tuesday May 17, 2016 at 10am in St. Patrick's Church, 244 Smith St., Providence. Military Honors to follow Mass. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, 1500 Rosecrans Ave, Suite 200, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266, or online at pancan.org. will be appreciated.
