Gambardella, Grace (Amoroso), 92, of Lippitt Avenue, passed away Thursday, December 8, 2016 at home. She was the loving wife of the late Carmine J. Gambardella. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Domenic and Loreta (Carnevale) Amoroso.
Grace was a communicant of St. Benedict Church, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. She worked at Bishop Hendricken Business Office from 1971-1984 before retiring. Grace was a member of the Mayor's Senior Service Commission, FOPA Lodge #7, and Ward 5 Republican Committee. She graduated from the Warwick Citizen's Police Academy in 2002.
Grace was the beloved mother of Vincent J. Gambardella; Thomas R. Gambardella and his wife Mary Jo; and Robert C. Gambardella and his wife Shirley A.; devoted grandmother of Michael, Matthew, Mark, Regina Connolly and her husband Scott, Carmen, and Kristin; step-grandmother of Marsha Tomasso, and Joshua Tucker; sister of Anna Phaneuf, and Margaret Amoroso, and the late Filomena, Felix, and Romeo Amoroso, Juliet Califano, Joseph and Victor Amoroso. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Grace was very thankful for Dr. Herbert Brennan, and his care through the years.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at 9 am from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Benedict Church, Beach Ave. Burial in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours Monday, 4-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to VNA of Care New England, 51 Health Lane, Warwick, RI 02886, will be appreciated.
