Obituary

Gerard A. Tellier, Sr., 80, passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2017 surrounded by his loving family at his home on Burlingame Road in West Warwick where he resided with his son, Jerry along with Ann and Jenna. He was the husband of the late Mary C. (Allen) Tellier and the late Pauline (Gentile) Siniscalchi-Tellier
He was born in West Warwick on May 12, 1936, a son of the late Joseph Arthur and Gracia (Vandal) Tellier.
He was a pipe fitter at Electric Boat in Quonset Point for 19 years and prior to that had worked for the former Pawtuxet Vally Oil Company in the late 1950's and then at the former Leesona Manufacturing Company in the late 1960's. He was also a courier for the Coventry Credit Union for over twenty years before retiring in 2016. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving from 1953 to 1956 in occupied Germany.
Gerard was a life member of the Phenix Sportsman's Club in West Warwick. He loved to play cards, bingo, attend auctions and yard sales, along with being an avid Red Sox fan.
He leaves two sons, retired West Warwick Fire Department Battalion Chief Gerard A. Tellier, Jr. and his wife, Ann of West Warwick and William J. Tellier and his wife, Susan of West Warwick; two daughters, Marie Forand of West Warwick and her companion, Russell Bullock and Donna Nardolillo and her husband, Joseph of Palm Coast, Florida; a brother, Richard Tellier of West Warwick; a sister, Theresa Guibeau-Joyal of Connecticut; four grandchildren, Scott G. Lavoie, Gerard James Tellier and his wife, Shanthi, Jenna Lee Tellier, and Mary A. Tellier; a stepdaughter, Frances Lanoue and her husband, Edgar of Coventry; two step grandchildren, Larry Larocque and Misty Parillo and her husband, Mark. He was a close friend of Marilyn Boyle. He also leaves his beloved dog, LooLace.
He was the brother of the late Rita LaTulippe and the late Lionel Tellier who passed away on the same day, four hours apart from Gerard.
His funeral will be held on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at 8:45 am from the Potvin-Quinn Funeral Home, 45 Curson Street, West Warwick with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 60 Pleasant Street, West Warwick. Interment with military honors will be in the Notre Dame Cemetery in West Warwick. Visiting hours are Monday 4-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to either the Hospice VNA of Care New England, 51 Health Lane, Warwick, R.I. 02886 or to The Paris Fund at Ocean State Veterinary Specialists, 1480 South County Trail, East Greenwich, R.I. 02818.
