Gail Ann Schlageter, 53, of Smithfield, RI died unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 19th. She was the beloved daughter of Norma J. (Holme) Schlageter and the late James L. Schlageter.

Gail is survived and continually loved by her siblings James E. Schlageter (the late Daniel Scott) from Providence, RI, Gary R. Schlageter (Ellyn) from Westerly, RI, Patricia L. O’Neill (Steve) from Glocester, RI, Sandra J. Davis (Steve) from Mansfield, MA and David R. Schlageter (Terri) from Atlanta, GA and the late Robert T. Schlageter. She also leaves 15 nieces and nephews, Sara Schlageter from VA, Maggie Bevia from NJ, Emily Walker from VA, Mandy Isbell from RI, Katie Wallace from Australia, Tommy Schlageter from RI, Michael Petrarca from VA, Jeremy O’Neill from RI, Nicole O’Neill from RI, Paul Davis from RI, John Davis from NY, Daniel Davis from VA, Peter Davis from MA, Janna Schlageter from GA and Robbie Schlageter from GA. She is also the cherished Great Aunt of Lilly Isbell, Charlie Isbell, Milo Walker and soon to be born twins from the land down under.

Gail was a member of the Cranston Christadelphian Ecclesia in Cranston, RI, and was baptized into the saving name of our Lord Jesus Christ on August 26th, 1984. Gail had to deal with many health issues throughout her adult life but through all the doctor visits, hospital stays and surgeries, she never complained and spent most of her free time helping others. “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven” Matthew 5:6.

Gail was an avid Red Sox, Patriots and Bruins fan and could be heard cheering from most any room in the house. She loved the Schlageter Thanksgiving where she would be able to see all the people she loved most in one place. Gail was always there to support her niece’s and nephew’s sports games, performances, and graduations; and went above and beyond to plan trips and outings with them, creating special memories they will hold on to for the rest of their lives. Gail was loved by all.
