Evelyn L. Mentzer, RN Obituary

Mentzer, Evelyn L., RN, 82, died Tuesday, November 21, 2017. She was the wife of the late John R. Mentzer. A resident of Pawtucket for most of her life, she was a daughter of the late Everett and Mae (Rzepiela) Manney. She resided in Wakefield for 13 years before moving to Warwick last year. Evelyn was a surgical nurse for 30 years at Pawtucket Memorial Hospital. She had started her career as a LPN receiving her nursing degree in 1970 along with her mother from CCRI. She was the beloved mother of Michael J. Mentzer, Capt. E.P.F.D. (Ret.), Susan A. Kelliher, RN, and Mary J. D’Amico; grandmother of Rachel Dean, Sarah Killeen, Laura Mentzer, Kyle Kelliher, Chad Kelliher, and Cheyenne Garcia; great grandmother of Jack and Hannah Dean, Lily, Ashley, and Emma Kelliher; sister of Patricia Turley, and the late Robert A. Manney.

Her funeral will be held Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 8 am from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 am in St. Kevin Church, Sandy Lane. Burial in R. I. Veterans’ Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours Friday 4-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148 will be appreciated.
