Drew M. Buxton Obituary

Drew M. Buxton, 25, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday December 23, 2020. He was born in Providence, a beloved son of Arnold S. “Skip” Buxton Jr. (RISP, Ret.) and Michelle L. “Ellie” (Abbatematteo) Buxton. He was the paternal grandson of Ruth E. Parr of Chepachet and the late Arnold S. Buxton Sr. and the late Donald R. Parr. He was the maternal grandson of the late Lynna J. and James H. Williams and the late Ben and Carol Abbatematteo. Drew was a security guard for Allied Universal at the Zambarano Hospital. He was an Air Force Veteran deployed to Kuwait from July 2015 to January 2016 with the Rhode Island Air National Guard. He was a Staff Sergeant with the RI Active Guard Reserve 143d Security Forces Squadron from May 2016 until his discharge in July 2019. He was a lifelong Pascoag resident and a 2013 graduate of Burrillville High School. Drew shared his love of live music and country music with his parents. He enjoyed golfing and waterskiing on Quaddick Lake. He played hockey since the age of 5 with BJHL, Burrillville High School and the RI Saints traveling to nationals. When he was younger, he raced a quarter midget at the little “T” speedway in Thompson, CT and he enjoyed following the Whelen Modified Series with his dad.
In addition to his parents and grandmother, he is survived by his sister Amy L. Plante and her husband Kristopher and their daughter Emery of Falmouth, ME. He is survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Church services will be held at Faith Tabernacle, 687 Hartford Pike, North Scituate. Due to COVID-19 restrictions attendance is by invitation only. Mask wearing and social distancing measures will be in place. Burial at Acotes Hill Cemetery in Chepachet, RI will be private.
