Obituary

Dorothy P. Regan, 91, of Johnston, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, June 14, 2020. Born in Providence she was a daughter of the late Charles and Hannah Kane. Dorothy was married for 69 years to her beloved husband John (Jack) Regan, Jr. Dot graduated from St. Patrick's High School in Providence. She was a parishioner of St. Thomas Church in Providence. She was a member of the prayer group, Eucharistic adoration, and was a religious education teacher. Dot lived her faith daily through her love of God and family. She devotedly watched daily mass on EWTN. She was a loving, kind, humble and thoughtful person - a true role model for others. She looked forward to family gatherings and greatly cherished her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved working in her flower and vegetable gardens and enjoyed reading, and playing scrabble and crossword puzzles. Dorothy is survived by her husband and devoted caregiver for many years, John Regan, Jr., and her children: sons John Regan III (Maureen), Paul Regan, and Brian Regan (Phonsavannah); daughters Kathleen Arpin (Richard), Patricia Regan, and Mary Morgan (James); grandchildren: Joseph, Christine, Derek, John, David, Bethany, Mary, Peter, Brendan, Melissa, James, Steven, and Regina and 10 great-grandchildren. She was the last of her family's generation predeceased by her brother Charles Kane, and sisters Mary Zita, FCJ, Alice Herchen, Margaret Unsworth and Anna Kane. The family would like to thank the HopeHealth Hospice nurses and CNAs who provided wonderful care to Dorothy over the past few months.
