Dorothy E. Smith Obituary

Dorothy E. (Sullivan) Smith, 94, a Greenville resident since 1946, passed away Sunday, October 15, 2017 at home. She was the wife of the late Joseph F. Smith. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Cornelius J. and Anne L. (Noonan) Sullivan. Mrs. Smith was librarian assistant at the Harmony Library for over 30 years before retiring.
Mrs. Smith was the mother of Joseph F. Smith of Greenville, William M. Smith of Greenville, Dorothy E. Bertherman of Greenville, Connie A. Nielson of Smithfield, Mary Jane Smith of North Scituate, Gerard C. Smith of Greenville and the late JoAnn Finkelman and Kerry Smith. She was also the grandmother of 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren and the sister of the late Cornelius J. Sullivan, Jr.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Thanksgiving, Friday, November 10, 2017 at 11am in St. Philip’s Church, 622 Putnam Pike (Rt.44) Greenville. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations to Food For The Poor, Inc., 6401 Lyons Road, PO Box 979004, Coconut Creek, FL 33097-9004 will be appreciated.
