Diane A Hawkins Obituary

Hawkins, Diane A. (Martinelli), 78, of Adams Street, a retired CNA for the former Pawtuxet Nursing Home for 12 years and a assembler Welsh Manufacture for 18 years passed away on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at home. Born in Providence; a daughter of the late William "Waco" Martinelli and Dorothy (Melucci) Silva. She lived in Providence before moving to Warwick 42 years ago. Diane was the beloved mother of Kevin M. Hawkins, and Lynn M. Maymom ; Loving grandmother of Stephaine, Kevin, and Arbrianna ; sister of Fernando Martinelli and his wife Gilda, Theresa Holt, Anna Martinelli, Ralph Martinelli and his wife Beverly, and the late William and Harry Martinelli. Diane was a member of the Warwick Senior Center Knitting Group, and a Senior Buddy for John Brown Francis School. She enjoyed crochet, knitting, and line dancing. Diane also enjoyed making hats and blankets for newborns, nursing home residents, and the homeless. Her generosity will be remembered by many.

Her funeral will be held Wednesday, September 3, 2014, at 9 am from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Peter Church, Fair St. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston; Visiting hours Tuesday 4-8 pm.
