Dennis J. Barlow, Sr. Obituary

Barlow, Dennis J., 74, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 in Port St. Lucie, FL. He was the beloved husband of Roberta K. (Corso) Barlow. A life-long resident of Warwick, he was the son of the late Walter and Gertrude (Jackson) Barlow and brother of the late Shirley Lawrence. Mr. Barlow proudly served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War and was a member of the Warwick Fire Department for 21 years and retired as a Lieutenant. He was a co-founder of D&D Electric, life member of the Oakland Beach Volunteer Fire Co., Tri-City Elks Lodge, Warwick Firefighters Assoc., Wm. Shields American Legion Post #43 and the Clam Harbor Yacht Club. He was a licensed captain of the "Boomer" and enjoyed fishing, boating and traveling. Mr. Barlow was a die hard Patriots, Bruins and Red Sox fan. He was the proud father of Denise Zarrella and husband, Robert; Dennis, Jr., (WFD) Ret. and wife, Pamela; Nancy Colombo and husband, Gregory; Bryan (WFD) and wife, Charlene; loving grandfather of Robbie, Erica, Nicholas, (PFD), Brandon, Derrick, Jonathan and Master Ryan; stepbrother of Jane Wallbridge and stepson of the late Isabel Barlow.

His funeral service will be held Thursday, April 7, 2016 at 10 am in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Chapel, 2435 Warwick Ave. Burial with military honors will be in RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions to a Wish Come True or the Ronald McDonald House, will be appreciated.
