Catherine
L.
Pastille
April 15, 1958 - June 25, 2019
Born in Providence, RI
Resided in Smithfield, RI
Dr. Catherine L. Pastille, 61, of Smithfield, RI passed away on June 25, 2019, after a long and courageous struggle with cancer.
Catherine’s abiding interest was in helping others through the trials of life. After taking a BS at Rhode Island College, she worked in many capacities in the Catholic Church and at several agencies that offered assistance to those in need. As a deeply spiritual person and perpetual learner, she later returned to school to receive two MA’s from Rhode Island College and Bryant University, as well as a PhD from the University of Rhode Island. She saw that the business world, mired in bottom-line thinking, is failing to satisfy the ethical and spiritual requirements of human beings, so she embarked on a teaching career to transmit new values to the next generation of business leaders. The students she taught at Bryant University, the University of Hartford, Providence College, the University of Massachusetts at Boston, and most recently at Assumption College in Worcester, Massachusetts will help her vision grow as they pursue their own careers.
She is survived by her sister, Lisa Pastille of Smithfield, RI and her brother, William Pastille of Arnold, MD.
Her funeral will be held Monday, July 1, 2019 at 9am from the TUCKER-QUINN Funeral Chapel, 643 Putnam Ave., (Rt.44), Greenville, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Michael’s Church, 80 Farnum Pike, Smithfield. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation, Sunday, 3-6pm. In lieu of flowers, tax deductible donations to North American Neuroendocrine Tumor Society, 136 Everett Rd., Albany, NY 12205 will be appreciated.
