Carl A. Brakenwagen Obituary

Carl A. Brakenwagen, 79, passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at Brentwood Nursing Home. He was the beloved husband of Joanne E. (Westberg) Brakenwagen. He was employed as a sales associate for Almac’s for 40 years and Stop and Shop for 25 years before retiring. He was a US Navy Veteran and served in the Rhode Island Army National Guard. He was a life member of VFW Post #183 and the TriCity Elks Lodge #14, a 32nd degree mason of Harmony Lodge #9, and a member of the United Food and Commercial Workers #328. Besides his wife he is survived by one son Erich Brakenwagen, and one daughter Carol M. Brakenwagen; one sister Albina DelGizzo. He was the brother of the late William Nelson.

A graveside service with military honors will be held Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at 11 AM at Pawtuxet Memorial Park Cemetery, 100 Harrison Avenue, Warwick. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 1817 Warwick Avenue, Warwick, RI 02889 will be appreciated.
